The Jesse Tree

Third Sunday in Advent, The Jesse Tree
Jeremy Knight, Children’s Ministries Director

What is a Jesse Tree?
The Jesse tree is the family tree of Jesus. It goes back to the very beginning, to Creation, it traces His family through the Old Testament, and it ends when He is born on Christmas Day. A Jesse tree is a little like an Advent calendar, except that it emphasizes the true meaning of Christmas, the birth of Jesus Christ.

Throughout the season of Advent, God will help us take a journey of song, scripture and prayers. We will sing and read about the great and wonderful things that God has done. We place an ornament on the tree for each day to help us remember what he has done for us and to prepare us for the most great and wonderful gift–the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ.
