Deacon Linda grew up in The Dalles, Oregon at the end of the old Oregon Trail, received her Bachelor’s degree in Education and MeD in Bilingual in Education from the University of Oregon.
She found her calling and taught for thirty-five years in Oregon and Washington before retiring in 2001. She began fulfilling a second calling; this time to ministry as Deacon in the Episcopal
Linda states that she was always moderately active in church all her life, but not until she had a child did she go deeper, teaching Sunday School, singing in the choir (both Episcopal and Southern Baptist), serving on Vestry, and on Diocesan Council for the diocese of Spokane, along with representing Episcopal Relief and Development.
Deacon Linda served two congregations in the Yakima Valley. She taught courses in Safeguarding God’s Children, Anti-racism, and was active in the Hispanic Ministry for the southern part of the diocese.
After the death of her husband in 2013, Linda moved to Tucson and requested that she be permitted to serve as Deacon in the Diocese of Arizona and specifically in Tucson and that is how she found CtK.
