Education for Ministry (EfM)

Register Now for 2017-18 Education for Ministry (EfM) Classes

The new session will begin on Thursday, September 14, 2017

It isn’t too soon to think about registering for Education for Ministry! According to our Mentor, Deacon Cathleen Carlton, “EfM provides an opportunity to dig deeper into the Christian faith by studying the Old and New Testaments, Christian history, and theology and a chance to reflect on connecting your own faith with life experiences.”

Details are as follows: Classes, which meet once a week from 6 to 8 p.m. for a nine-month academic year (with breaks for Thanksgiving and Christmas), are sponsored by the University of the South at Sewanee, Tennessee. The fee is $375 per academic year, which includes textbooks and a resource manual. Homework is assigned and participation is required.

A Continuing Education certificate may be awarded for each of four years of study, provided the participant has not missed more than three seminars during that time. After successful completion of the four year program, a diploma from the University of the South is awarded to the graduate (more at http://efm.sewanee.edu/).

Class size is limited, so please contact Deacon Cathleen with questions or to let her know you have decided to participate.
